ProfoundSyntax is a developer community for asking questions, debugging problems, sharing code, building projects, teaching techniques, and helping other developers.
Our community standard is simple: Code. Debug. Build. Share.
These rules apply across ProfoundSyntax. Individual Topics may have additional rules, but Topic rules cannot override these site-wide requirements.
Be Respectful
Disagree with ideas, code, architecture, tools, languages, or technical approaches without attacking the person behind them. Harassment, threats, stalking, targeted intimidation, repeated personal attacks, or attempts to drive another member out of the community are not allowed.
No Hate or Targeted Abuse
Do not attack, degrade, threaten, or dehumanize people based on protected or deeply personal characteristics. Technical disagreement is welcome. Targeted abuse is not.
Protect Personal Information
Do not publish another person’s highly sensitive private information without authorization. This includes private addresses, passwords, authentication credentials, private phone numbers, confidential documents, financial information, identity documents, or information posted for harassment or intimidation.
Never Post Secrets in Code
Do not intentionally post active passwords, API keys, access tokens, private encryption keys, production credentials, private certificates, recovery codes, or similar secrets. If you accidentally expose a credential, revoke or rotate it immediately.
Share Code Responsibly
Code examples, debugging samples, proof-of-concept material, and security discussions are welcome when shared for legitimate technical, defensive, educational, or research purposes.
Do not use ProfoundSyntax to distribute malicious payloads, credential stealers, destructive malware, ransomware, botnet tooling, intentionally deceptive downloads, or instructions whose primary purpose is unauthorized harm.
Respect Ownership and Licenses
Only post code, documentation, images, text, or other material that you have the right to share. Preserve required attribution and license notices. Do not deliberately pass off another developer’s work as your own. Copyright complaints and counter-notices are handled through the Copyright / DMCA procedure.
Keep Posts Relevant
Choose the most appropriate Topic and Thread type. Use clear titles, include enough context for other developers to understand the problem, and provide relevant code or error information when appropriate.
Search Before Duplicating a Question
Before submitting a new Question, check whether the same problem has already been discussed. Moderators may mark substantially duplicate Questions and link them to an existing canonical discussion.
Do Not Spam
Do not flood ProfoundSyntax with repetitive content, excessive promotional links, automated submissions, irrelevant advertising, or duplicate replies. Links should add meaningful technical value.
Vote on Content, Not People
Upvote content that contributes useful information and downvote content based on usefulness or quality, not because you dislike the author. Do not coordinate voting campaigns, create vote rings, use multiple accounts to manipulate scores, sell or trade votes, or repeatedly target another member through retaliatory voting.
Do Not Manipulate Reputation or Badges
Do not manufacture activity, arrange artificial voting, abuse accepted answers, or exploit multiple accounts to increase reputation.
Do Not Abuse Reports
Use the Report function for genuine rule, safety, spam, or moderation concerns. Do not mass-report another member as retaliation or knowingly submit false reports.
No Impersonation
Do not impersonate another member, developer, company, open-source project, ProfoundSyntax moderator, staff account, or verified account. Handles that create a significant risk of impersonation or confusion may be rejected, reserved, quarantined, or changed.
Respect Blocks and Boundaries
If another member blocks you, do not create alternate accounts or use other features to circumvent that boundary. Do not use mentions, replies, votes, or other interactions to continue unwanted contact.
Do Not Evade Enforcement
Do not use alternate accounts, modified handles, automation, or other methods to evade a warning, suspension, ban, moderation restriction, security restriction, rate limit, or participation block.
Follow Topic Rules
Some Topics may have their own rules covering formatting, supported technologies, project promotion, minimum detail, or other subject-specific requirements. Follow both the Topic rules and these site-wide ProfoundSyntax Rules.
Verified Does Not Mean Expert
A verified badge indicates completion of the applicable identity or trusted-account process. It does not mean ProfoundSyntax endorses the member, guarantees their expertise, confirms their employer, or guarantees that their answers are correct.
Security Research Must Stay Responsible
Do not attack, disrupt, overload, scan destructively, exfiltrate data from, or obtain unauthorized access to ProfoundSyntax or another person’s systems. If you believe you found a ProfoundSyntax security problem, report it responsibly through the official support channel rather than exploiting it.
Illegal Activity Is Not Allowed
Do not use ProfoundSyntax to facilitate fraud, unauthorized access, exploitation, theft, abuse, or other unlawful activity.
Protect Minors
Content or conduct that sexually exploits, grooms, endangers, abuses, or otherwise targets minors is prohibited.
Moderation Actions
Depending on severity, history, and context, ProfoundSyntax may issue warnings, remove content, lock discussions, reverse abusive activity, restrict participation, temporarily suspend an account, permanently ban community participation, or take other reasonable protective action.
Topic Moderators and Community Moderators
Topic Moderators may moderate content within assigned Topics. Broader account actions such as global warnings, suspensions, permanent bans, or platform-wide abuse investigations may be limited to Community Moderators or authorized administrators.
Report Problems
If you see content or conduct that appears to violate these rules, use the available Report action instead of escalating the dispute yourself.
Rules May Evolve
ProfoundSyntax may update these Rules as the community, features, security risks, and moderation needs evolve. Continued participation requires following the current version.
